The Sop For Climbing Mount Rinjani Regarding Mountain Closures Has Changed. What's New?

News Update | Putu Puspa Negara | Wednesday, June 12th, 2024
In previous years, the Mount Rinjani National Park Office closed climbing during religious holidays, namely Eid al-Fitr for 3 days and Eid al-Adha for 1 day.

For the last 2 years, the Mount Rinjani Trek Organizer Forum has protested against this closure. They argued that on holidays tourist attractions should be open. Until finally this year the Mount Rinjani National Park Office issued letter number SK.42/BTNGR/TU/KSA/04/2024 regarding the revision of the Climbing SOP relating to holidays, which states that the National Park remains open as usual on the Eid al-Adha holiday with the following provisions:
1. Entrance tickets still use the purchase quota in the eRinjani application.
2. Check in on the day, will be served starting at 09:00 in the morning (after finishing the Eid prayer).
3. The TO Forum is backing up guard officers on 6 climbing routes from 17 to 18 June 2024.
4. Valid for general quotas and Trek organizer quotas
5. Climbing quotas for June 17 will be open starting today.

However, because this information is last minute and to respect the staff, guides and porters who carry out the Eid al-Adha worship, the Rinjani Trekking Center as the organizer still does not provide climbing services on June 17 2024.
