The hiking season to Mount Rinjani will open in less than 2 months. Of course, many of you have planned to hiking to Mount Rinjani. The natural beauty of Mount Rinjani has always been a strong attraction for visitors from all over the world. Have you planned your hiking this year?
During the peak of the rainy season (January 1 – March 31) Mount Rinjani is always closed for reasons of safety and ecosystem restoration. Apart from being illegal to hiking which can result in lawsuits, hiking in the rainy season will also have several bad impacts for you, such as: There is no insurance that will cover you in the event of an accident and the unpredictable weather makes visibility poor so it will be difficult to can see beautiful views. Did you know, apart from routine closures during the rainy season, Mount Rinjani also schedules closures on several religious holidays, here is the list:
1. Eid al-Fitr 2024 (1445 Hijri). In accordance with the SOP for hiking to Mount Rinjani, Mount Rinjani will be closed for 3 days (D-1, D-Day, D+1) for Idul Fitri. This rule has been implemented since 2019. According to the calendar of the government of the Republic of Indonesia, Eid al-Fitr in 2024 will take place on April 10th, 2024. So you cannot start climbing (Check in) on April 9th until 11th 2024. Please pay attention This closure is only for those who starting the hiking on that date. If you are already in the Mount Rinjani National Park area before that date, you can do hiking according to the schedule on your e-ticket. Check out on the closing date is also still served as usual.
2. Eid al-Adha 2024 (1445 Hijri). During the Eid al-Adha holiday, Mount Rinjani National Park is also closed for 1 day (D-Day). In 2024, Eid al-Adha will take place on June 17th, 2024. Just like Eid al-Fitr, during Eid al-Adha you are not allowed to start hiking (check in), but you can still hiking as usual and check out if you are already inside the Mount Rinjani National Park Area before June 17th, 2024.
