Itinerary

Day 1 Pick up at your arrival point

Airport/harbor/your hotel - Senaru Village

Upon your arrival, our driver will greet you at Lombok International Airport or any other location in Lombok for a private transfer to Senaru Village. The journey from the airport takes approximately 3 hours. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional tour of the famous Senaru waterfalls after checking into your accommodations.

Senaru’s premier attraction is Sendang Gile Waterfall, a majestic site that draws thousands of visitors annually. Situated approximately 600m above sea level, it is a scenic and easy 20-minute walk from the entrance gate. For those seeking more adventure, Tiu Kelep Waterfall is located an hour further upriver. This trek involves scrambling over river rocks through lush tropical forest, rewarding hikers with a stunning cascade and a refreshing deep pool. Local legend even suggests that swimming behind the falls at Tiu Kelep grants you a year of youthfulness.

Note: The Waterfall Tour is optional and not included in the package. You may explore independently; however, we highly recommend hiring a local guide for the best experience. Entry tickets are IDR 20,000 per person, and local guide services typically range from IDR 200,000 to 300,000.

At 7:00 PM, you will meet your trekking guide for a comprehensive safety and itinerary briefing. For late arrivals, this briefing will be conducted the following morning after breakfast.

Day 2 Start trekking from Sembalun village

Senaru Village - Sembalun Village - Crater Rim Sembalun Campsite

Our driver will pick you up from the guesthouse between 07:00 – 07:15 AM, following breakfast which is served starting at 06:00 AM. We will then transfer to Sembalun Village. Before commencing the trek, it is mandatory to complete final registration and scan your e-Trekking Pass QR code at the Rinjani National Park Office in Sembalun Lawang (1,156 m). Please ensure you have your trekking pass ready (available via our staff or your dashboard) and your passport for identity verification.

The journey begins with a gentle ascent through local villages, lush farmlands, and expansive savannas used for cattle grazing. As you walk, you will be treated to breathtaking views of the Sembalun hills and the majestic silhouette of Mount Rinjani.

IMPORTANT: As the trail crosses open grasslands, temperatures can rise quickly. We highly recommend using sunblock, wearing a hat, and opting for comfortable trekking shorts rather than long pants for better airflow.

After approximately 2 hours of trekking, you will reach Post I (Pemantauan - 1,300 masl) for a short rest. Another hour of walking will bring you to Post II (Tengengean - 1,800 masl), our designated lunch point. Here, you can relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery while our team prepares your meal.

From there, the trail becomes steeper as you hike for 3 to 3.5 hours through a serene pine forest (Casuarina species) to reach the Sembalun Crater Rim (Pelawangan - 2,639 masl). We aim to arrive before dusk so you can enjoy a spectacular sunset with a warm cup of tea or coffee. After dinner, get some well-deserved rest to recharge for the summit attack at 02:00 AM the following morning.

Day 3 Summit attack, visiting segara anak lake and hot spring water

Crater Rim Sembalun - Summit - Segara Anak lake - Hot Spring Water

The day begins at 2:00 AM as you prepare for the summit attack. The ascent to the peak of Mt. Rinjani (3,726 m) typically takes 3 to 3.5 hours, navigating a steep and sandy trail. As temperatures can drop as low as 4°C, please ensure you are equipped with a warm jacket, long pants, and a reliable headlamp. Reaching the summit rewards you with a profound sense of achievement and breathtaking sunrise views extending across the Wallace Line to Bali’s Mt. Agung and Sumbawa Island. After approximately an hour of capturing photos at the peak, you will descend back to the camp, passing through slopes adorned with Edelweiss (Bunga Abadi), for a well-deserved breakfast.

A soak in these mineral-rich waters, believed to have healing properties, offers the perfect natural relaxation to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Lunch will be served by the lakeside between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM, featuring views of Mt. Baru, the active volcano in the center of the lake. The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure—relax by the shore, take in the scenery, or try your hand at fishing. Dinner will be served at approximately 6:00 PM.

The ascent to the Senaru Crater Rim takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. The trail traverses rocky cliffs, offering a steady climb that provides stunning new perspectives of the lake from various angles. While the terrain is rocky, it does not require specialized climbing skills or technical equipment.
