The holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2023, takes place from March to the third week of April 2023. Generally during Ramadan climbing is open but during Eid al-Fitr climbing is closed for 3 days (D-1, D-Day, and D+1).

This year, according to an agreement between the Head of the Mount Rinjani National Park Office and the Trek Organizer Association Forum in Sembalun on March 29, 2023, climbing through the services of a Trek Organizer is open normally.

This opening is to accommodate the many requests of tourists who want to climb during the long Eid holiday. Hopefully this opening can accelerate the economic recovery of people who depend on tourism, which fell during the Covid 19 pandemic.
