Rinjani National Park Closed Until March 31st, 2024

The Mount Rinjani National Park Office today, Monday December 18th, 2023, through an official letter numbered: PG.2051/BTNGR/TU/KSA/12/2023 announced the closure of climbing activities in the Mount Rinjani National Park with effect from January 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2024.

In fact, this closure is a routine closure carried out by the Mount Rinjani National Park Office to anticipate the dangers of climbing due to high rainfall and also as a period for restoring the ecosystem on Mount Rinjani.

For climbers who want to climb Mount Rinjani, December 31st, 2023 is the last day to check in and must check out maximum on January 3rd, 2024. After January 3rd, 2024, all activities carried out in the Mount Rinjani area are illegal activities which can result in the imposition of sanctions.

Alternative climbing when Mount Rinjani is closed. For those of you who want to climb, there is still an alternative climb near Mount Rinjani which also provides amazing views. One of them is Pergasingan Hill with a duration of 2 days 1 night. This climb will give you views of the Sembalun village valley and the majestic Mount Rinjani.
