Officially: Rinjani National Park Reopen Starting April 1st, 2023

Mataram March 18th, 2023.

Every year during the rainy season, Mount Rinjani National Park is always closed for the safety of climbers. In addition, the closing of the National Park also aims to restore the eco system after being used for 9 months. Closing usually starts from the beginning of January to the end of March.

During the closing period, all climbing activities are abolished. Entering the National Park area is a serious violation of law. Many tourists have to canceled or postponed their intention to climb Mount Rinjani on January to March 2023.

Today (18 March 2023) coinciding with the Rinjani Begawe event which was held in the city of Mataram, the Mount Rinjani National Park Office announced the official opening of the Mount Rinjani National Park area starting April 1st 2023. This announcement was stated in letter Number PG.384/T .39/TU/KSA/3/2023.
