However, the Torean trekking route remains temporarily closed. Trekkers should check the latest route availability before finalizing their trekking arrangements.

Following independent assessments conducted between 30 September and 1 October 2026, TNGR confirmed that forest-fire suppression activities in the affected areas had been completed.

The assessment involved TNGR and various relevant stakeholders to evaluate fire conditions, trekking infrastructure, and visitor safety before reopening the route.

Based on these assessments, the Senaru trekking route is officially permitted to reopen from 3 October 2026.

Current Mount Rinjani Trekking Route Status

Senaru Route – OPEN

The Senaru trekking route officially reopens on 3 October 2026.

Trekking activities can resume following the completion of fire suppression and safety assessments.

This means guests who previously had to change their trekking arrangements due to the Senaru closure can once again consider Senaru as their trekking entrance or exit route, subject to available tickets and applicable regulations.

Torean Route – TEMPORARILY CLOSED

The Torean trekking route remains temporarily closed following the forest-fire situation in the area.

Trekkers should not use the Torean route until an official reopening announcement is issued by TNGR.

For guests planning a trek involving Torean, we recommend checking with their trekking operator for available alternative routes.

Other Trekking Routes

According to the latest TNGR announcement, five trekking routes are being reopened under normal operating conditions following the previous limited-opening policy:

• Sembalun

• Senaru

• Timbanuh

• Tetebatu

• Aik Berik

However, the Torean route remains subject to its separate temporary closure.

Online Booking and Trekking Registration

TNGR has announced that online registration and booking for trekking activities through the eRinjani application will resume from 3 October 2026 at 06:00 WITA.

Trekkers must complete their registration through the official eRinjani application and comply with the applicable national park regulations.

Route availability and trekking quotas remain subject to the official booking system.
